HELLO TO ANYONE WHO READ THIS!, by Charlie, trainee
"at the round corners of the imagined world, angels blow....." John Donne
Hello wide world....
four days after leaving St Martins, sailing north a little, west a little, we are now sitting on the rim of the ocean and have turned decisively east. A few squalls were as a few curtain raisers to the show, now the wind is light and steady, the sea a little darker, but very far from menacing. The swells are long as cumbrian fells, the air a little cooler, the days longer, the nights a little dreamier.....
This is my first journey on the tres hombres. I have been aboard about a fortnight now... When I know a little more I am going to write again to encourage anyone who has a thought of sailing on the tres hombres to join her. It is a very marvellous thing, in a very many number of ways.... the boat (is beautiful), the crew (all in love), the patient passionate devotion to an ancient way of boatcraft and seamanship, the incredibly relaxed, modern and laid back atmosphere.... what is there not to praise as we slide into the blue ...GOODBYE..
